This looks like an accurate list to me. I’m always amazed how beautiful weddings are these days

Uzerfriendly March 9, 2011 at 7:57 am

Looks like the wedding photography industry is really advancing in the philippines with this list

Aliezoid March 9, 2011 at 2:16 pm

Wedding photography and videography in the Philippines is more advanced compared to euro and western nations. This is a remarkable list of creative companys

Hazel April 19, 2012 at 9:22 am

That is so true. Having a great photographer husband here in the US, I’m inspired to create blogs about creative concepts in videos and photos and do away with contemporary western styles.

cruz November 24, 2013 at 7:32 pm

I disagree. I think more than anything it’s the different styles applied in different cultures. In Asia, notably China, they like the extravagant, dramatic, traditional poses. And some of that trickle to the Philippines too because we like dramatic touches to our photos. In the US, it’s more of a natural feel and even when I applied the Asian flare to my US clients, they think it’s too dramatic and pretentious. They want simple, realistic shots. A lot of my Philippine shooter friends think western weddings are boring well that’s just because the style in the Philippines kind of offsets the standard they are accustomed with. It’s not a contest. It’s just a different altogether and both are fun to shoot.

harlequin March 9, 2011 at 4:26 pm

Personally, I’d replace Niceprint and Wally G. with PAT DY and OLY RUIZ of METROPHOTO

Anne October 18, 2011 at 2:07 pm

I agree!

Anna March 11, 2011 at 3:23 am

i think the title is misleading. There are other great photographers and videographers, these are just “the most popular and sought out” as you’ve mentioned. I’d say the others have branded themselves as Top, and customers think they are the best because they charge the most for their services.

marv March 17, 2011 at 6:51 am

i have to agree with anna. the title is quite misleading as it states top ten wedding photographers and videographers in the philippines yet metrophoto and pat dy are only honorable mentions plus other great names and the truly top wedding photographers were left out … lito sy might be one name you’d want to look up and include here, there’s also atty. fortun, dino lara, aaron ebio, imagine nation … and the list goes on.

but according to you, “I’d like to share the best wedding photographers and videographers I encountered” …maybe the right title for your article would be – MY top 10 ….

as you have encountered in other photography forums, eyebrows will be raised because the title is just misleading and confusing. photographers and photo enthusiasts nowadays always get a bit touchy on subjects like this and that may be the reason why they are pointing out the title change

just my 2 cents :D

i hope my comment helps

Design Pinoy March 17, 2011 at 7:24 am

Thanks for the feedback people! It’s good you add other great photogs here in the comments so people will see real results from real people.

web design Philippines March 17, 2011 at 7:38 am

Some names should not be included in this list like niceprint and Karl mimi. Replace with Dino Lara and Attorney Fortun. Top 3 looks worthy solid.

Pinoy Photographer March 18, 2011 at 4:51 pm

Hi i saw this in the Pinoy photography forum. You can add Lito Sy to this list.

anthea santiago March 24, 2011 at 5:04 pm

nice print is over rated. i dunno why they are on this list

Anne October 18, 2011 at 2:05 pm

i agree with you. Not that nice compared to the others

Nathalie April 24, 2011 at 11:48 pm

MangoRed is a solid choice for the Top 10. Their pre-nup and wedding photos of Jay (of Kamikazee) and Sarah are what really inspired me to take up photography, seriously.

Design Pinoy April 25, 2011 at 11:26 pm

Definitely Jay kamikazee wedding photos are unforgettable!

Anne October 18, 2011 at 2:05 pm

But!!! sometimes they are unproferssional :(

elize May 31, 2011 at 2:35 pm

you guys have to understand that this industry is growing. there are a lot of underrated photographers out there. you should come out with an unbiased entry on top 10 up and coming wedding photographers because this list is also becoming like an advertisement, same old people every year…also in WPPP awards. no doubt they’re great but it wouldn’t hurt these people’s career by acknowledging the emerging great ones, would it?

Revy May 31, 2011 at 3:00 pm

I can’t get over that Pat Dy is just an honorable mention in this list. Bec. I always think of him as the David Beckstead of the Philippines!

Anne October 18, 2011 at 2:09 pm

pat November 24, 2011 at 9:59 pm

tnx revy for the association to beckstead…! he’s one of my heroes!

hazel June 1, 2011 at 1:11 pm

i would like to include a new comer. awesome output. Treehouse story.

Anne October 18, 2011 at 2:08 pm

nice work sila pero not enough to be on this list. malayo pa kay JM and threelogy.

ivy November 29, 2011 at 1:14 pm

saw jm’s work beforehand. not much of a fan. i like treehouse story in my humble opinion. and they sure don’t look like they’re far from jm’s work. his is good, but i love the treehouse story feel to it.

ERNIE June 4, 2011 at 8:41 am

meron pa po si Bogs Ignacio on of the best here in Philippines (bogs Ignacio aka in facebook) yn naman ung site nila

Jayson June 12, 2011 at 9:04 pm

nakalimotan mo Lito Inso and dino lara they are multi awarded photographers.

John Bekker June 26, 2011 at 10:52 am

You forgot Lito Inso, … he’s like they jerry ghionis of the phillipines

Laura Aquino August 2, 2011 at 1:55 am

I am not based in the Philippines but I would be curious to see these amazing Filipino photographers soar the market. I think for me to be considered the top is not based on popularity – rather the $$$ (money) made by the company and national achievement (awards) that can be mentioned. I know it is tough to get this information. I still believe that those strive for competition awards and money will stay longer in the business. This way every artist can be paid well…effort is already there… its time to get these wonderful artists the money they are worth for.

Design Pinoy August 3, 2011 at 10:53 pm

^you have a good point. Wedding photographers and videographers are starting to get paid better in the Philippines.

HannaSanchez October 14, 2011 at 4:15 pm

Oh, but where’s Imagine Nation Photography?

Hazel April 19, 2012 at 9:25 am

Yes, I heard they’re a great team as well.

Anne October 18, 2011 at 2:02 pm

should be on the list

MAYAD is new and their works dont compare to Jason Magbanua and Threelogy

Ken July 23, 2013 at 11:11 am

Anne, you are gravely mistaken on this. Mayad has been around since 2007 . And they have been awarded by international bodies in videography just like JM. And since then they have been setting the bars on wedding videography. They are also on their 6th mayad academy now which means aspiring videographers around the globe look after their works. So i don’t think we should compare them to threelogy.

Anne October 18, 2011 at 2:04 pm

PAT DY only honorable mention??????????

This list is not accurate anymore! Boo!

Sammy October 22, 2011 at 1:00 pm

I’m getting married in December and I believe we hired Threelogy as well as Mimi & Karl. Do M&K not make the list? We looked at a lot of the people on your list. :)

Nicole November 30, 2011 at 9:39 am

Pat Dy and Francis Perez!

Nicole November 30, 2011 at 9:42 am

Who’s Alt-X?

jenny December 17, 2011 at 1:13 am

metro photo magaling talaga
i have to agree with the other post maraming hindi naisali rito like dino lara, jj lucas, digital light images, atty fortun etc

nice print overrated kung sino sino na lang ang shooters nila

DesignPinoy February 10, 2012 at 1:12 am

Thanks for the suggestion

Alvin February 10, 2012 at 11:29 am

I keep hearing good things about this guy….check it out…

dominic February 17, 2012 at 2:08 am

nelwin uy should be on this list. he’s the best worldwide. another photog i suggest is ryan ortega.

DesignPinoy February 17, 2012 at 9:56 pm

Good suggestion. I’ll add him in part 2 of this story

Apollo February 17, 2012 at 2:28 pm

I’ve seen the work of James Limsoc his work is good! His theme is “technology merges with timeless style.” see

Kirsten February 23, 2012 at 1:59 pm

Yah. I’ve seen also the work of james limsoc. I think he also deserve to be part of the best photographers in the Philippines.

Paul February 23, 2012 at 6:55 pm

there are good photographers from the south…. and one of them is Joey Reyna. checkout

DesignPinoy February 24, 2012 at 4:43 pm

Thanks i’ll check him out

Omar March 4, 2012 at 8:41 pm

Pat Dy is the Best!

Eesah March 7, 2012 at 1:52 pm

Checkout the works of Derek de los Santos of Redfox Photography. He’s a brilliant photographer. =)

DesignPinoy March 7, 2012 at 7:10 pm

thanks for the reco. what is derek’s style or specialty?

Dennis March 11, 2012 at 1:57 am

wow… your all great guys. im really inspired by your work…how i wish to be in your team..

Dennis March 11, 2012 at 2:12 am

so your arguing the title huh…i really don’t mind it, when i look every person in the list i saw there hearts and there arts. well, for me art is not a race.

Jaja March 20, 2012 at 7:16 pm

Great work from Angelbar Photography! They are number one in Binondo :) specializing in Chinese wedding and Engagement! :) I’m very happy with there service! Contact #: 586-3037 or 09228283300

edgar March 24, 2012 at 12:15 am

a big no no for Alt-X..

and i totally disagree of Jason Magbanua being behind Threelogy

DesignPinoy March 24, 2012 at 2:51 am

Oh why? Share your experience…

edgar March 24, 2012 at 9:59 am

i saw videos of alt-x. don’t get me wrong, but not worthy for top 10.. nice print would be a better choice.
and i believe that Jason Magbanua should be atleast in the top 2. or should be on top of the list. after all, he is the one who started all trends in wedding videography..

DesignPinoy March 24, 2012 at 5:15 pm

Thanks for the review.. Maganda din getting honest feedback :)

lol March 28, 2012 at 4:38 pm

patrick uy should also be in this list too. lol.

mars April 2, 2012 at 9:14 pm

I dont get it why Bob Nicolas is just top 10… He should be on top of the charts!

Francis Perez should be there too together with Pat! (Fat Dy and Bob bride here)

Chi April 3, 2012 at 7:24 pm

Interesting top 10. Worked with most of them except for Mango Red and Mayad Studios. I am looking forward to working with both of those companies SOON!!!

John April 3, 2012 at 8:40 pm

Wedding photographers should not be ranked together with the videographers. kasi different yung kanilang field of expertise but anyways ok na yan hehehe :D

DesignPinoy April 9, 2012 at 8:32 pm

You have a good point there! I should really write an update to this list :D

Cel April 11, 2012 at 12:03 am

Hands down to Mayad Studios! Definitely the best… They’re young but indeed worthy to be on top!

Hazel April 19, 2012 at 9:26 am

Wow, this is a great list. Ngayon ko lang narinig yung Mayad Studios so I’m going to check them out as well. I would like to add though, Dino Lara is forum mate of my hubby and is very professional. He actually took our pre-nup shots in Pinas.

Hellions April 20, 2012 at 12:20 pm

I think we should not leave out “the emerging great ones” like Flickerhappy Studio and Rock Paper Scissors for photography.

The two studios I’ve mentioned are creative and gives us a fresh approach to wedding photography.

For videos, Treehouse story is coming out as good for me. But Mayad is still the best. : )

Zakkiya June 30, 2012 at 9:09 pm

Hi guys, you also forgot to mention another well known Tagaytay Wedding Expert – Mr. Eros Xerxes Astillero of Eros Photography.

Check out their works at or

Same Day Edit videos are also their forte. They offer affordable package for Tagaytay Weddings. No out of town charges too!

Miguel October 24, 2013 at 6:06 pm

come on. eh ikaw yung marketing nila diba? sympre isasama mo. sirang sira na kyo sa mga forums. wag nyo dagdagan pa.

Nin July 24, 2012 at 6:36 pm

I’ve been canvassing photographers for the past month I noticed Wally Gonzales Photography has a different style with their wedding album. I’m an artist myself and I know the difference.

Others kasi parang naka template na at puro naka box lahat. I just don’t know about their raw.

I’m torn between Wally and Mango Red. I’ve met the brothers and they are uber cool.

ianne July 26, 2012 at 2:39 pm

Oh come on! Wally G and Alt-X? Are you kidding me? Pat Dy and Cinemaworks are waaaaaay better. The best is still Nelwin Uy and Mayad Studios, hands down!

Roel Liza July 1, 2013 at 11:50 pm

How Pleasure if to be one of them… :) congratulations TOP 10

Jig Flordelis July 12, 2013 at 8:46 pm

Very accurate ratings, Mayad Studio deserved to be in number one spot…
