Awesome moments captured by great amazing photographers. Nice! :)

Tanya April 7, 2013 at 2:46 am

Their skills are undeniable, but one can’t help but think it has become all about the money…the fees of some on this list are exhorbitant already.

Art Oca April 12, 2013 at 12:42 pm

Hi Tanya, no the prices on that list are not exorbitant. It is just right if you count the cost of the photographer. A hi-end camera body can cost from 100k to 250k, lenses cost from 70k-150k each. Photographers have a set of lens and a minimum of 2 bodies for a wedding coverage. He’ll still pay taxes. He’ll still pay for the cost of shoot (gas, food). You’ll be paying for his time and talent. He’ll still pay for software licensing. Those prices are just right if you want high quality coverage for your wedding. But you can always find beginners charging 5k, sometimes even 2k, if that’s what fits your budget.

Phil April 10, 2013 at 5:06 pm

@Tanya: They’re wedding photographers. They are professionals, not hobbyists (except for Atty. Fortun). It always was about the money because this is their business and profession.

The better you become, the more well known you become. The more well known you become, the more in demand you become. The more in demand you become, the more valuable your time becomes. In demand photographers charge a lot in order to remind people that their time is valuable because their talent is proven. If someone can’t afford their talent, they can always go to less proven talents. These photographers aren’t necessarily less talented. It may just be that they haven’t had the right opportunity and exposure, which is why their time isn’t as valuable. But don’t put down these people because of the fees they charge, whether too much or too low. It’s all about supply and demand. If your talents are in demand, there won’t be much of your time to go around, so you can charge as high as you want as long as there is a demand that will support it.

john a April 12, 2013 at 6:10 pm

whats the basis of this list?

there are better photographers who should be on this list. and nelwin uy on the 7th spot? its unbelievable, he should be on the 1st or 2nd spot.

# 15, 11, 9 , 5 – - – i dont totally agree with this.

John Mateos Ong April 12, 2013 at 9:38 pm

Thank you for including us in your top 15. :) to God be all the glory.

Jhom April 12, 2013 at 11:57 pm

where is Sir Joel H. Garcia?

Jose April 13, 2013 at 12:02 am

This is a good list but what were the criteria used for selecting the top 15 among the hundreds, maybe thousands, of wedding photographers in the Philippines? Price, clientele, value, popularity, accessibility, breadth of offering? Note that some of these potential criteria (popularity, accessibility, breadth of offering) don’t have any bearing on the beauty of wedding photos. Unless the criteria is clearly understood, this list is just comparable to the list that show up in Google when you search for “wedding photographers in the philippines”.

Yna ( Xean's Aderhaf ) April 13, 2013 at 12:05 am
